  • Sunrise Powerlink sign indication no access for the project on this road. They are already starting to build towers off of Buckman Springs rd.
  • Entrance to medium sized rock shelter
  • Looking into the rock shelter from the entrance. You can see the neatly piled stones in the back wall
  • Here is the backside of the wall from the outside, you can the careful placements of stones to seal the shelter
  • This seemed to be the scat de jour, lots of it everywhere. I think maybe some kinda cat as the ends are too blunt for coyote

  • This is a "Cuyamaca Oval" bedrock basin metate. It is oval and somewhat shallow, unlike the deeper, round morteros you see in the desert areas
  • This large boulder has both Cuyamaca Ovals and a single deep mortero
  • There was a lot of pottery in the area also
  • There was a very long rock wall at the entrance of the habitation area, this is the left side
